Reverien Ndikuriyo, Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD (Burundi’s ruling party) is hospitalized in Kenya at the Aga Khan Hospital in the capital Nairobi.

“He is in a very critical condition. He had come out of the coma before plunging into another on this Sunday,” say sources close to his family.

Burundians based in the Kenyan capital were refused access to the room of the Secretary General of the former Hutu rebellion, even though they had been allowed to visit him the day before. Several sources revealed to SOS Médias Burundi that “the health of the secretary general of the CNDD-FDD deteriorated on Sunday”. No official communication has been made in this context.

“We are waiting for what God will do, we are desperate”, said a close friend of his family.

Confusion is also total among CNDD-FDD activists.

“We know nothing about the state of health of Révérien Ndikuriyo,” said one of the activists of the presidential party in despair.

“I believe he would have died, but that the senior officials of the party are only waiting for a good moment to communicate it”, said another CNDD-FDD activist.
