A tragedy linked to domestic disputes

The Rugunga village chief confirms that the origin of this attack lies in marital tensions and land disputes. The case is now in the hands of the courts.

Women’s rights organizations are sounding the alarm. They denounce a resurgence of gender-based violence and regret that, in many cases, perpetrators escape punishment. They call on the justice system to act firmly to ensure that the perpetrator of this attack is held accountable, believing that such a signal is necessary to combat impunity for violence against women.
