According to the priest of the cathedral of Ngozi Thaddée Nzigamasabo, the incident occured on the morning of this Friday. In particular, musical and sound instruments were stolen.

Residents believe that the thieves were armed with bladed weapons.

“[…], we heard nothing, neither the cries of the watchman, nor the sound of the weapon used. This is why we imagine that the perpetrators would have used bladed weapons”, say neighbors of the cathedral.

Police said they had arrested “three criminals who stole material from Ngozi Cathedral after murdering the watchman”.

The security forces claims to have seized all the stolen goods from them, an Ak47 and two machetes.
