Burundi: Burundian president wants homosexuals to be stoned
According to Évariste Ndayishimiye, powerful countries that impose same-sex marriage as a condition for granting aid can keep their funds. “They are possessed by Satan.”
In a public broadcast this Friday, he asked Burundians living abroad who practice homosexuality to “not return.” INFO SOS Médias Burundi
President Neva calls it an abomination. “You asked a question about this abomination where powerful countries ask the poor to follow this plan without which they will no longer be able to have aid, let them keep their aid. I truly tell you, if you want to bring to yourself curse in the country, allows same-sex marriage. Do you remember what happened in Sodom and Gomorrah. On one level, God revolts….God created man and woman so that they can reproduce. Do we want to destroy this world? This is no longer a question in Burundi. In my opinion, if we see homosexuals, people should take them to a stadium to stone them. It’s abominable. And those who did so would not have broken any law or sinned,” he explained.
According to him, “I chose God, may these Burundians who go to these countries to learn these customs never come back any more.” For President Neva, people who promote the LGBTQ community “are possessed by Satan.”
At the end of August this year, seven people were sentenced to one year and two years in prison for homosexuality by the high court of Gitega, the political capital.
Homosexuals, cursed people according to President Neva
” […] Burundian homosexuals, even those who live outside the country, wherever they are, even in the USA, they must be banned, treated as pariahs, they are cursed”, insisted President Évariste Ndayishimiye during a parliamentary retreat early in March, without mentioning the group of supposed homosexuals who had been arrested in the town of Gitega a few days earlier.
And on August 15, during the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Catholic Church in Burundi, he did not mince his words in front of a representative of the holy father.
“Despite the fact that Westerners introduced Christianity to Burundi, we regret that they promote homosexuality, abortion, the manufacturing of chemical weapons as well as euthanasia,” he lamented.
Until December 2022, 68 countries in the world criminalized homosexuality. They are located in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. At least 11 of them apply the death penalty against homosexuals. In Burundi, they are punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine.
