She had been accused of slanderous denunciation for having denounced, during a meeting with the Minister of Education François Havyarimana, sexual abuses perpetrated by Abbot Leonard Ntakarutimana, director of the Technical Lycée Christ Roi of Mushasha, against female pupils of this school.

On June 13, during her last appearance before the Gitega Court of Appeal, Emilienne Sibomana had said she did not understand how Father Léonard Ntakarutimana always stayed at the head of the Technical Lycée Christ Roi of Mushasha.
