Bujumbura : the secretary general of the CNDD-FDD is gradually recovering

Reverien Ndikuriyo is receiving treatment in a hospital in Dubai, the first city of the United Arab Emirates and capital of the emirate of Dubai. He was transferred there after a stay in one of the renowned hospitals in the Kenyan capital-Nairobi, and in the sub-region, namely the Aga Khan University Hospital. INFO SOS Médias Burundi

According to our sources, Révérien Ndikuriyo was transferred to Dubai in a very critical condition.

“He could not recognize anyone and he was breathing thanks to respiratory accessories,” a close friend of the leader of the former Hutu rebellion told SOS Médias Burundi.

In the main city of the United Arab Emirates where many Burundians have been looking for work in recent years due to unemployment hitting them hard, Révérien Ndikuriyo was accompanied by his wife. A sister of his wife, who does not live in the country, joined them as soon as she could.

“He was able to recognize her. He is recovering little by little. However, his lungs have been seriously affected,” testifies a member of his family.

To date, no communication from the CNDD-FDD on these facts. Recently, Burundian President Évariste Ndayishimiye briefly said that “Révérien Ndikuriyo was doing well”.
