Bujumbura, August 5, 2025 – The lifeless body of Claver Nzeyimana, 50 years old, from Kayanza in Butanyerera province (north), was discovered on Tuesday morning inside a vehicle. The incident took place on the 5th Avenue in the Buyenzi zone, in the commercial city of Bujumbura.

According to testimonies gathered on the scene, Nzeyimana, who worked in a local electric mill, spent Monday evening in a bistro in Buyenzi with his friends. He then allegedly consumed a very alcoholic drink before returning home. He was found dead in the early morning in the vehicle where he had been lying down.

The administration warns against the consumption of strong alcohol.

The local administration confirmed this information and stated that the man was known for his excessive consumption of very alcoholic drinks. It urges the population to avoid these products, particularly during this period of shortages of drinks from Brarudi, the country’s main brewery.

Claver Nzeyimana’s body was taken to the morgue at Prince Regent Charles Hospital.
