The search took place around three early in the morning at the home of Laurent Nduke. An AK-47 was seized. It is in Munyinya village in Bugenyuzi district.

This information is confirmed by Vianney Ndayishimiye, deputy chief of Munyinya village. He specifies that the same operation continued at the home of Servat Nzigirabarya where the police discovered another rifle.

At the home of Claude Ndayizeye, eight chargers, 130 cartridges and a bayonet were found there, according to the administration.

The three men, CNDD-FDD members, were taken directly to the police cells in Karusi. They are incarcerated there.

Local sources fear they will be released. They require a trial in flagrance as is customary in Burundi in such cases.
“A way to put an end to the phenomenon of impunity”, say residents contacted by SOS Médias Burundi.
