Gitega : a man killed very close to his home

Ezéchiel Bigirimana, 36 years old, and father of four children, was killed by as yet unidentified persons.
The crime took place on Friday May 17 in Rukoba village in the district and province of Gitega (central Burundi). The village administration confirms this information but indicates that it does not know the motives for the crime. INFO SOS Médias Burundi

His body was discovered about ten meters from his home.

“He had a drink in a local bistro. He returned home but did not have the chance to reach home. About ten meters from his house, he was intercepted by unknown people who beat him to death and finished him off with a big stone,” said a member of his family.

This information is confirmed by Modeste Ngendakumana, village manager. He indicates that two women suspected in this murder were apprehended in the morning of Saturday, May 18, 2024. They are detained in the cells of the provincial police station in Gitega.
