The 30-year-old was known to suffer from mental disorders. He received regular care at the Kamenge neuropsychiatric care center in the north of the economic capital Bujumbura. Residents of the capital of Bubanza label this father of 5 as a wise and reserved man. His body was discovered at his home by his family this Monday afternoon.

“He was left alone at home as usual. Returning from work in the fields, we found his body inside the house. With a rope around his neck, stiff, he was already dead,” says a relative of the family.

The local administration believes he committed suicide. The local police have not opened any investigation, SOS Médias Burundi learned.
