Bujumbura: five Mpox cases confirmed in a boarding school
At least five students from the Lycée Reine de la Paix located in the Ngagara zone, in Ntahangwa commune in the northern commercial city of Bujumbura are hospitalized. They have Mpox.

The patients are admitted to different health facilities in the economic capital, according to school sources.
A month ago, these schools managers began to suspect the outbreak of the disease in this boarding school establishment.
The north of Bujumbura, usually facing repeated cuts in drinking water, remains the epicenter of the epidemic. Over 960 cases have already been tested positive there since its outbreak, according to the Ministry of Health.
More than 1,200 cases of monkeypox have already been recorded across Burundi. The small East African nation, which has not reported any deaths so far, remains among the countries most affected by the disease.
