Rumonge : four Imbonerakure appeared in a case of machete attack which left one dead
Janvier Ndereyimana, 24 years old, Adolphe Kwizerimana, 20 years old, Fulgence Iradukunda, 27 years old and Samuel Nzoyihaya, a 17-year-old minor, all members of the CNDD-FDD youth league, the Imbonerakure, appeared before the First Instance Court of Rumonge (southwest Burundi) in a flagrant trial on Thursday. They are prosecuted in a machete attack case which cost the life of a 12-year-old boy last weekend. His mother remains hospitalized. INFO SOS Médias Burundi
The four suspects were assisted by two lawyers. The minor had his own lawyer.
They pleaded not guilty and asked for time to present witnesses for their defense.
The Court granted the request. The hearing was postponed for next Monday. The case for which the four members of the CNDD-FDD youth league are prosecuted dates back to last weekend. A 12-year-old minor was killed, his mother injured with a machete.
The mother of the boy murdered with a machete remains hospitalized. The suspects are held in police cells in Rumonge.
