Bururi: Binyoro zone chief detained
Spès Nemerimana, the head of the Binyuro zone in Vyanda commune, Bururi province (southern Burundi) is detained in the police cell in the provincial capital since August 16, 2024. She is prosecuted for “complicity” in a murder case.

Spès Nemerimana was sent to the Bururi police cell in the afternoon, as her arrest occured that morning.
Police sources say she was interviewed by a judicial police officer before her transfer.
According to administrative sources, Binyuro zone administrator is prosecuted for “complicity” in the murder of a person named Jean Pierre Ndikumagenge, a retiree from the Burundian army.
Residents of Gihinga where the incident took place, confirm having discovered the deceased’s clothes last Wednesday, stained with blood behind the couple’s house.
