It was early in the morning that passers-by discovered the body in the Makamba 2 neighborhood, according to our sources.

“Passers-by saw a body hanging from a tree with a rope at dawn. They immediately raised the alarm,” local sources say.

The administration and the police went to the scene to assess the incident.

Residents say that “we immediately recognized the deceased. It is Cédric Nkeshimana, a young graduate of the nursing school. He worked in a pharmacy in the provincial town center.”

Circumstances of his death have not yet been identified. Witnesses say that the deceased had no injuries and that he was not wearing his shoes. They believe that the young man was killed before the perpetrators of the murder faked a suicide, because they say they noticed fresh traces of a vehicle under the tree from which he was hanging.

But sources from the border district of Mabanda (same province of Makamba) where he comes from say that Cédric Nkeshimana had already attempted suicide in the past.

The police say they apprehended two suspects as part of their investigation.

The body of the deceased was evacuated to the morgue of the provincial hospital.

It should be noted that the same sources in Mabanda say that one of his brothers was also recently found dead in circumstances that have still not been elucidated.
