Bujumbura : the Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD returns to the country after a hospitalization abroad

Révérien Ndikuriyo arrived at the international airport of Bujumbura (commercial capital of Burundi) in the afternoon of this Thursday, February 20, 2025. This happens after the hospitalization in Dubai and Kenya. He was welcomed by senior officials of the ruling party. Sources within this party affirm that he is doing well.

The Secretary General of the ruling party in Burundi, the CNDD-FDD, Révérien Ndikuriyo, returned to the country on Thursday, February 20, 2025 after a period of hospitalization abroad. His plane, an Ethiopian Airlines aircraft, landed early in the afternoon at Bujumbura International Airport in the commercial city, where he received a warm welcome.

His deputy, Cyriaque Nshimirimana, as well as several senior officials of the ruling party were present to welcome him. “He is in good health,” confirmed an internal source in the ruling party, who wanted to reassure the public about Mr. Ndikuriyo’s state of health.

In WhatsApp messaging groups or on other social media platforms, activists of the former Hutu rebellion did not hide their satisfaction at the return of this politician.

“May God be praised. We were desperate,” they wrote.

Révérien Ndikuriyo returned on the last Thursday of the month, a day reserved for prayer in all party offices throughout Burundi.

He was not seen in any prayer on Thursday.
