Rumonge : a young man arrested on suspicion of rape of a minor
A resident of the district and province of Rumonge (southwest Burundi) was arrested by the police on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. He is suspected of having assaulted a 15-year-old girl. An investigation is underway. INFO SOS Médias Burundi
Gervais Nibigira, a resident of Kanenge village, in the Kigwena zone, district and province of Rumonge, was arrested by the police. He is currently held in a police custody in Rumonge.
A police source confirmed his arrest and said that investigations are continuing to establish the facts.
The victim was medically treated and transferred to the Humura center to receive the necessary care.
