Nestor Niyongabo, 57 years old, was discovered dead about 100 meters from his home, near the Free Methodist Church. According to a witness, his body had numerous head injuries and significant blood flow from his ears and nose, suggesting a violent attack with clubs.

Kigara village chief Charles Ntahomvukiye confirmed the information, suggesting that the murder could be linked to a land dispute, as the victim was in legal dispute with relatives.
