Burundi-Press : journalist Ahmadi Radjabu is free

Our colleague was released on Thursday. His equipment has been handed over to him.

Ahmadi Radjabu was released around 5 p.m., his employer confirmed to SOS Médias Burundi.

“He is free since 5 p.m. Everything was given back to him,” he said, promising us to give more details later. When our newsroom contacted him, he had not yet seen Ahmadi Radjabu. Other colleagues in Bujumbura have also affirmed that he left the jail.

In Burundi, three journalists remain in prison. Among them, two women including one who was convicted to a ten-year jail in January 2023.
