Rumonge : President Ndayishimiye attacks those who denigrate the 2040-2060 vision

Rumonge : President Ndayishimiye attacks those who denigrate the 2040-2060 vision

During the opening of a new building of the provincial office of the province of Rumonge in the southwest of the country, President Évariste Ndayishimiye violently attacked people “who divert the attention of the population by preventing them from making projects in the 2040 vision – emerging country and 2060 – developed country”.

Mr. Ndayishimiye, who was in Rumonge on Wednesday, castigated “people who say that this vision belongs to President Neva”.

President Évariste Ndayishimiye described those who make these remarks “devils who want to destroy the vision of the country”.

He regrets that those who say so, know that the vision was prepared with all the actors and members of the Burundian diaspora.

The Burundian president says he is reaching out to these people. He asks them to bring ideas that can improve this vision instead of destroying it.

He fears that the 2040-2060 vision will be buried if he is no longer in charge, since, according to him, “Satan wants to prevent Burundian people from taking ownership of this vision”.

According to Évariste Ndayishimiye, “some young people have already understood this vision. They are making plans, creating small and medium-sized businesses to build the image of their businesses in 2040 and 2060, at a time when adults spend their time negatively criticizing this vision to the point of pinning it on President Neva alone”.

He said this as he inaugurated the new provincial office of Rumonge built with the funding of about 2 billion Burundi francs collected from the population, the government and members of the diaspora native to Rumonge province.

President Ndayishimiye promised that the government will liquidate the debt of 45 million Burundi francs that the province had contracted for the finishing works.
