Kayokwe: release of a former soldier

An ex-Fab soldier (Burundi Armed Forces before the integration of the Hutu armed movements), Elvis Nzigamasabo had been detained since January 13 at the provincial police station in Mwaro (central Burundi). He is free since last Thursday. INFO SOS Médias Burundi

He had been arrested by agents of the SNR (national intelligence service) on board a private vehicle at the chief town of the commune of Kayokwe in the province of Mwaro.

The retiree was suspected of communicating with Burundian media in exile, which he has always denied.

He finally regained his freedom after two weeks of detention. His family confirmed his release to SOS Médias Burundi.
