Gitega : one person killed, another found dead in a week
Déo Havyarimana was killed on Wednesday in Jenda village in the district and province of Gitega (central Burundi). And on Friday morning, the body of a certain Kama was discovered in the Nyamugari neighborhood in the town of Gitega. In the case of Déo Havyarimana, he was killed on Wednesday at the Kirimbi trading center, on national road number 15, RN15, according to the comments of the Jenda village chief.
“It is angry residents who lynched Déo. He was caught in possession of a stolen motorcycle. His two companions fled. Unfortunately, residents took the law into their own hands”, admitted Fabien Kadende.
The perpetrators of the murder have not been arrested.
And on Friday, the body of a certain Kama was discovered at the first avenue of the Nyamugari neighborhood in the town of Gitega.
“We do not know exactly the circumstances of his death, but we believe that he died of a natural death”, responded Hussein Butoyi, head of the Gitega urban zone. According to Mr. Butoyi, the victim suffered from mental disorders.
Kama and Déo Havyarimana were each aged fifty years and over.
