Rumonge : 4 zones with new chiefs

Léonard Sirabahenda was appointed to lead the Kizuka zone, Michel Ntahondi is now the new zone chief of Minago at a time when Innocent Nijimbere was appointed to lead the Kigwena zone. Hamza Sinankwanabose is now the new zone chief of the city of Rumonge. These are zones in the district and province of Rumonge (southwest Burundi).

INFO SOS Médias Burundi

The former zone chiefs of Kizuka, Minago and Kigwena were replaced on June 18, 2024 for “reasons of incompetence”, according to an administration source.

The one who led the Rumonge zone was replaced after being appointed to other functions.

Some residents of Rumonge describe the appointment of these new chiefs as an adjustment of the ruling party to prepare for the next legislative elections in 2025.

All 4 new zone chiefs are members of the CNDD-FDD party, like the outgoing zone chiefs.
