Gitega : recurring discovery of bodies
The body of Berchmans Ndayisenga (61 years old) was found inside his house on December 11. This macabre discovery took place in the village of Muyange in the district of Mutaho in the province of Gitega (central Burundi). It brings to seven the number of bodies found in the province of Gitega since last November.

According to the local administration, the deceased was alone at home.
“His children were at school while his wife was admitted to the Mutaho hospital for treatment at the time of the macabre discovery,” said the village chief of Muyange, Laurent Nkunzimana.
The remains of Ndayisenga were transferred to the Mutaho hospital. No suspects have been arrested.
Since November 3, this is the seventh body discovered in Gitega province, according to a count by our editorial staff.
Residents denounce “a recurring situation that unfortunately does not seem to attract the attention of local authorities”.
Two people were arrested by the local police in the seven cases.
