Butezi : a second body found in the camp in a week

To this day, the identity of the victim remains unknown. Security agents do not yet know if he is a refugee or a member of the local community. Refugees who spoke to SOS Médias Burundi believe that the two murders are linked.

“We need protection. We are already in a difficult situation, and these two successive murders in one week have frightened us. Security agents must increase their efforts so that security is guaranteed,” said a Congolese refugee living in Nyankanda.
