Bujumbura: the district of Jabe I has had no leader for two months
It has been two months since Aline Niyonzima was suspended from her post as Jabe I nighborhood chief which plunged residents of the neighborhood in difficulties of obtaining administrative services. They want a solution from the municipal administrator of Mukaza (center of the commercial city Bujumbura) together with the Mayor. INFO SOS Médias Burundi
The neighborhood is located in the Bwiza area. Its leader was suspended by the communal administrator on accusations by the president of the communal council of Mukaza, according to our sources.
“The head of the neighborhood squabbled with Annick Nsabimana while the women were sharing a drink in a bar. Nsabimana swore that things could not stop there […]”, witnesses say.
The measure suspending the head of the administrator was not long in coming, a measure which would have been taken under the influence of the president of the municipal council, according to sources close to the case who affirm that “the municipal administrator of Mukaza acted on order of the president of the municipal council”.
According to our sources, the communal administrator and a legislator from the CNDD-FDD, the presidential party, tried to confront the two women, without success.
The case was brought to the Mayor of the city who, according to sources familiar with the matter, had to look into it and decide.
The charges against the head of the neighborhood are not known. However, his subjects are struggling to find solutions for some cases that require the signature or certification of a local administration. They ask the communal administrator and the Mayor of the city of Bujumbura to solve the problem as soon as possible.
