According to sources within the district council of Kayogoro, this decision to dismiss Antoine Ndayiragije came in the afternoon of this Friday during a meeting of the district council.

The reasons for his dismissal are among others the lack of hospitality in the reception of service seekers, delays in public meetings with people under his leadership whereas they are fixed by himself. He is also accused of being slow and refusing to execute decisions of the district council, of carrying out activities not voted on by the district council, of increasing salaries of the staff of the district land service and of refusing to issue national identity cards to applicants, without valid reason.

The interim administration is provided temporarily by the permanent secretary before a new administrator is elected.

The administrator of Kayogoro was also accused by opposition parties of hindering their political freedoms. Several CNL members have been arrested since his election.

This CNDD-FDD member was a technical adviser in charge of administration and social affairs from 2015 to 2020 before being elected administrator.

His election had sparked a wave of controversy within the CNDD-FDD because the district of Kayogoro should be administered by a woman.
