Rumonge: 20 year- imprisonment for a man guilty of murdering his wife
Ernest Havyarimana aka Kabushemeye, 45, was sentenced by the Rumonge High Court (Southwest of the country) to a 20-year principal penal servitude sentence this Wednesday afternoon. The man is convicted for stabbing his wife to death. The incident took place on Mutambara hill, in the Gatete zone in Rumonge commune and province. The culprit’s wife did not die on the spot. She managed to flee to her neighbor but could not survive. The husband chased her to her hiding place. He finished her off with a knife. She died before arriving at Rumonge hospital.
The police managed to get their hands on the suspect on Tuesday night. Ernest
Havyarimana acknowledged the accusations made against him by the public prosecutor’s office in Rumonge.
The prosecution requested a life sentence against the defendant. The high court ruled on twenty years in prison.
