A body of a young man bathing in his blood was discovered on Tuesday in Mparambo 1 village a few steps from the river Nyakagunda.
“The victim, buried in a hurry on the orders of the administration without an investigation, was reportedly killed by Imbonerakure (members of the CNDD-FDD youth league) who grabbed his house”, said a resident of the Swahili neighborhood.
Not far from there in the village of Kagazi in the same town, a child of 2 and a half years left with a neighbor by his parents who left this on Tuesday in the fields, was found dead.
“The presumed culprit, namely the neighbor was immediately arrested and taken to the dungeon of the provincial police station. Investigations are in progress”, explains a relative of the victim, with tears in his eyes.
On December 5, an advanced decomposing body of a woman was found in Rusororo village. Obviously, she was killed after being raped. According to a source on site, the victim whose identity has not been revealed was immediately buried on the orders of local authorities.
A day before, a naked corpse of an old man had been found on the 7th avenue of the Karurama sub-village, Cibitoke sector less than 3km from the provincial capital.
As indicated by a police source, the victim whose identity was not recognized was immediately buried by order of the district administrator.
These macabre discoveries worry human rights defenders who demand “immediate independent investigations” in order to “determine circumstances in which these people died”.
Contacted on this matter, the governor of Cibitoke, Carême Bizoza confirms this information and says that “the investigations are in progress”. He calls on the population to help the judicial police so that the truth is known.
