Audace Ngendahayo (52 years old) was in a banana field at the time of the murder, according to local residents.

“He received several machete blows. These Imbonerakure also cut off his head,” regret witnesses. The victim was from the same locality. The local police and the district administration confirmed the death of this father of 7 children.

Audace Ngendahayo was buried on the spot by Imbonerakure on the orders of the district administration. His relatives did not participate in his burial, witnesses told SOS Médias Burundi.

A human rights defender based in Cibitoke advises residents to put an end to mob justice behavior. Julienne Ndayihaya, district administrator of Mugina, says an investigation has been launched into the case.
