98 houses, 7 classrooms and several crop fields were destroyed on the hills of Burimbi and Kibati where 122 houses were damaged, suggests a report by a grassroot administrator, on the Nyamirambo and Gakomero sub-hills.

The same source believes the affected are in total desolation due to lack of housing adding they are spending the night under the stars.

The victims are asking for emergency assistance to help them because they do not have anything to eat following the rains which have damaged all the crops.

The municipal administration confirms this information and specifies they are counting casualities. The municipal authorities indicate that they will look for potential donors for an emergency intervention, because according to them, the municipality alone cannot cope.

These administrators call on the population to help each other while waiting for potencial help from outside the municipality.
