Bujumbura : the three officials of the presidency transferred to the prison of Mpimba
Jean Baptiste Baribonekeza, former chairperson of the National Independent Human Rights Commission, CNIDH, Cyrille Sibomana and Arcade Harerimana, arrived at the prison of Bujumbura called Mpimba around 8:40 p.m., on Sunday.

The three men had been detained in the dungeons of the National Intelligence Service (SNR) since the day of their arrest, last Thursday. Witnesses told SOS Médias Burundi that the three officials of the Burundian presidency arrived in Mpimba around 8:40 p.m.
“All three arrived here, accompanied by intelligence officers. They were not wearing belts,” said a witness who saw them enter the prison.
The Association for the Fight against Unemployment and Torture, ALUCHOTO, has closely followed the operation to decongest prisons. It continues to denounce an activity marked by many irregularities.
“We demand that all those involved in the shenanigans surrounding the operation to decongest the prisons be severely punished,” said Vianney Ndayisaba, the representative of this local association, in a press briefing he hosted in the commercial capital, Bujumbura, last Friday.
