Bururi : gereza limezidiwa na idadi kubwa ya wafungwa
Gereza la Bururi (kusini mwa Burundi) linawahidhi wafungwa ambao wanazidi uwezo wake kwa mjibu wa vyanzo katika idara ya magereza. Inawapa hifadhi watu 383 wakati uwezo wake hauzidi watu 250. HABARI SOS Médias Burundi
Viongozi wa idara ya magereza wanasema mazingira gerezani ni mabaya. Waziri wa sheria analaani kuona kuna watu wanaozuiliwa jela wakati hawatakiwi kukaa jela. Anaomba mahakama kuwajibika ili kupunguza msongamano katika magereza.
Msongamano katika magereza mkoani Bururi unathibitishwa na vyanzo vya wizara ya sheria, watetezi wa ndani wa haki za binadamu na watu wa karibu ya wafungwa.
” Gereza ambalo lina uwezo wa kuwapokea watu 250 sasa linawapa hifadhi wafungwa 383. Hali hiyo inasababisha mazingira mabaya gerezani, wanasema.
Kulingana na vyanzo, gereza lina wafungwa 117 waliokatiwa kesi, wanaosalia wote bado ni watuhumiwa.
Bururi na katika magereza mengine nchini, msongamano wa wafungwa ni changamoto kubwa ambayo inasababisha hasara kubwa kwa serikali, kulingana wa waziri wa sheria.
