Ryansoro : a CNL office destroyed
A CNL party office in Ngaruzwa village was vandalized. It is in the district of Ryansoro in the province of Gitega (central Burundi). Perpetrators of the crime have not been identified. The district administration speaks of an ongoing investigation. INFO SOS Médias Burundi
The premises were demolished in the night of Monday April 10, according to our sources. “We could not identify the perpetrators. But considering the political situation for a long time, the fact is linked to a bad political cohabitation. The CNL is frowned upon by the ruling party”, say members of the main opposition political party.
Local CNL officials speak of political intolerance that is not new in the district of Ryansoro. “[…] there are even three members of our party illegally detained since April 6. They are only victims of their ideas, because they are only members of the CNL. The democracy sung by our leaders is far from being a reality with us”, they denounce.
The administrator of Ryansoro district did not want to comment on both cases, arguing that an investigation has been launched.
