Rumonge: a woman injured, her son killed in a machete attack

A young boy was killed, his head cut off and his mother injured with a machete by unidentified people on Gashasha hill in the Kigwena zone of the Rumonge commune and province (southwest of the country).

The attack took place during the night from Friday to Saturday.

Police sources report that “unidentified people broke into a household on the hill before committing this crime”.

The motive for the killing of this 12-year-old boy is not yet known.

Four suspects, including a 17-year-old boy, were arrested this Saturday and held in the police cell in Rumonge.

Investigations have begun to find the murderers and learn the circumstances of this crime, according to provincial police sources.
