The civil society, territorial coordination of Nyiragongo which provided the information to SOS Médias Burundi through its technical secretary, indicates that these alleged bandits apprehended by the security services disturbed the tranquility of the village of Rukoko on Wednesday night.
Several people were injured that night.
Thierry Gasisiro welcomes the collaboration between the local population and the security services, because, he says, “this nice dragnet succeeded thanks to this marriage”.
“A band of bandits that clandestinely pass themselves off as the Wazalendu (local militia supported by the Congolese authorities) by attacking people and burglarizing houses in Rukoko”, adds the activist.
This gang injured several people and took several valuable goods, according to local sources.
The local civil society is calling on judicial authorities to punish these alleged bandits in accordance with the law. It also calls on the population to remain vigilant and to strengthen their collaboration with the security services to put an end to the insecurity which prevails throughout the territory of Nyiragongo.
