Bururi : three men and a woman sentenced for willful murder

Gabriel Nizigama, Leonidas Nditije and Leonidas Nyandwi were sentenced to life jail on Tuesday by the High Court of Bururi (southern Burundi). They are accused of having murdered Rosine Nimbona in Kijima village in Rutovu district in Bururi province (same province). Gaelle Irakoze will have to serve 10 years in prison. The three men will also pay a sum of twenty million Burundi francs to the family of the victim.

Gaelle Irakoze was sentenced to 10 years in prison and to the payment of a fine of 20,000 Burundi francs to the public treasury.

She was found guilty of “failure to show public solidarity” in the same case.

The case was tried in the context of flagrance judgments on Tuesday.
